Being back on the track with my teammates was super awesome today. I realized how much I missed them and how much I really love them. I think that’s another topic for another post, but I just wanted to say that I missed you guys! (if you’re reading this).
Anyway, today’s workout really told me that it is GO time. GO time is when it’s time for you to peak. It’s when you give it your all in the races. It’s when you hurt the entire time and it’s when you hit the times you’ve been wanting the whole season. Now, sub 5 on my mile definitely feels a bit much now that I look at it. I have no doubt I will reach that at least by next year, but for now, I have to stick with what I got and make it work. So far this whole season, I’ve kind of disappointed myself with my mile times. The last one (5:27) wasn’t so bad, but Saturday’s workout and today’s workout both said the same thing. I am ready. I know I can hit that sub 5:20 and even go 5:15 and possibly lower. It’s this last month of racing where I HAVE to do that. It’s GO time.
