Last weekend I didn’t run. Since January, I had only taken two days off and I wanted some more resting time since most people take about a week off after a season of cross country or track. That was probably one of the worst decisions I’ve made recently because when I tried to run on Monday and Tuesday, my legs felt awful. I felt tired, 6:20 mile pace felt like a race pace and it was the worst two days of running.
Because of this, I don’t think I’ll be taking two day breaks ever again. Sure I’ll take Sunday’s off for a day of recovery, but I think with how much I run, I shouldn’t take more than a day off. Remember that this only applies to me and I don’t want to sound like I’m giving advice.
Anyways, days off suck.
